No Place To Be ~By Sorez The Scribe Daddy went on vacation That’s what mom told me But I haven’t seen my father In over fifteen years His Colors hang in the closet His Bikes are in the garage Finally found out from Brothers His vacation was thirty to life So I took a ride across country To the East coast of New Jersey Destination Trenton State Prison They call it TSP Mom had long since passed Cancer took her away She never had the courage To tell what I needed to hear I kept his Bikes a runnin’ Soon as I learned to wrench When I entered throught the gates Found out I was on the list On the other side of the glass Sat an old man grey and frail Hardly the big ass Biker I remember when I was a kid I picked up the phone and said hey dad A tear came to the greybeards eyes Hello son I’m so sorry Was the first thing that he said I didn’t want you to know To be ashamed of me For living the Hardcore life And for the things that I did I told him dad I love ya Else why would I come all this way I need you in my life Through phone calls or the mail Know when I’m riding your Harley Your spirit rides with me A smile came to his face The wrinkles seemed to fade He said son I’m proud of ya And don’t ever wind up in this place
