Lifes' Highway

Past littered with baggage
Darkness enveloped my soul
Showed to all I did not care
Out there on the road
In my prime at the time
Or so I must have thought
Older now looking back
Respect is what I sought
This highway called life
A hard row to ho
Especially when
You choose life on the road
Respect earned deserved
With blood sweat and tears
My presence was known
My wrath was feared
Hardcore now softened
By thousands of miles
A greybeard now
A greybeard who smiles

Childhood filled
With violence
On one side
Of the flipside
Of that coin
Tales
Love and bandages
Heads
So filled with love
And violence
Is who I am
Take a chance
Flip that coin
If it lands standing
Upon it's side
Then you have found
The true me

Not acknowledging
What is right in front of you
Or are you color blind
Seeing only in black and white
Unable to distinguish
The beauty to behold
In the Colors around you
Holding on to things
That do not matter
And letting go
Of things that do
Something's not right
Yet you see nothing wrong
