Wild Bill - In memory of “Wild Bill” Gelbke By Richard ‘Bingo’ Cosby (DC Eagle/COC of Wisconsin)
Mad Dog’s Hideaway - a biker bar Off on the side of the road - Was owned by a guy named Louie - Who lived by the ’biker’s code’. A big biker rode up one sunny day And strutted right into the bar - Dressed all in leather - had a beard - And in his mouth - a stubby cigar. He ordered a beer and said: “I’m Wild Bill.” And then he started to drink his brew - But silence fell the length of the bar - As if the angel of death walked through! Louie stood up and said: “OH NO! Because that name is sacred in here! That name is taken - I’m sorry pal, But I won’t charge you for that beer. I’ll tell you the story and maybe you’ll see Why in here you can’t use that name. Wild Bill was killed by the Green Bay cops - And much to their lasting shame! A biker’s biker! I want you to know! He was respected this nationwide! Outlaw and citizen bikers alike - All lost a brother the day he died! I ride a bike that that man built! It’s a Gelbke Auto four. I hope you can see why that name is out! If you can’t - then you hit the door! That guy got up and walked right out! A minute later - and back he came! He ordered a round for the house - And smiling said: - “BIG Bill is my name!”
