To My Brother As I stand here in this place, I remember the last time I saw you And I regret words unsaid and deeds undone What I would give to see you one more time or hear your voice I miss you more than words can say. As I stand here in this place, I think of how your life impacted mine How grateful I am that our paths crossed for a season, even though it was too brief How just knowing you changed my heart And how much I loved you, completely and unconditionally. As I stand here in this place, I reflect upon the days that are long since gone And I wonder, did you know that someday we would be legends? Did you have any idea that stories of you, me and our Brothers would live on And that future generations would try to emulate what we had? As I stand here in this place, I am proud that you were my Brother I am proud that we wore the same patch, that we lived together, cried together, loved together, partied together, fought together and above all, always stood together Everything I had was yours and what you had was mine. As I stand here in this place, I am reminded that though I carry on without you, It is not without a price because I have lived to see that what we had is no more The loyalty, love, guts, class, BROTHERHOOD that we had then has died And those of us who remain are dinosaurs in this generation of bikers. As I stand here in this place, I will make you this promise That I will never let your memory die That every time I feel the wind in my face, I take you with me That your spirit and those of our Brothers lives on in me. As I stand here in this place, I am reminded how fragile life is And of the certainty that someday, my Brother, I will be as you are now But I look forward to that day when we are all together once more, on the other side, When we will embrace each other again after all these years And we will mount up and ride together once more. “Inspired”
