Ride away Chris
Sometimes a man will bite the bit and live in misery,
He’ll stick with it through thick and thin in a fake normality.
He’ll let the world walk over him and just live day to day.
When I feel like that or I’m misunderstood I simply ride away.
I don’t think of the consequences, or of what I leave behind,
People’s feelings and my responsibilities don’t even cross my mind.
When times are rough and I feel bad and it’s been a trying day,
I pack up all my belongings and simply ride away.
I won’t gesture as I leave, or call you some rude name
You’re entitled to be the way you are, and I’m entitled to the same.
I’ll shake you firmly by the hand, and wish you all a good day.
Then collect all my belongings, and simply ride away.
I’ll always be an outcast but it’s not because of you.
I choose to be the way I am, it may be strange but it’s true.
When I feel I’ve had enough, and there’s nothing else to say
I’ll pack my bag, put on my lid, and simply ride away.
