Happy Birthday Dad
This would be your day to shine.
The stars will have to do it for you.
There's not a day that goes by that you are not thought of.
This time of year is just the hardest.
You see, it's your birthday then Father's Day then the anniversary of your death.
All within a couple of weeks.
You were taken from us by the hands of murderers.
Now we cannot share these days with you anymore.
This is the way it has to be done.
Through thoughts. On paper.
I can still hear you laugh.
I make sure I think of it often.
I don't want to forget how you sound.
I hear that bell I got you one year.
You rang it all the time!
"I'm hungry" you'ld yell out.
I loved it.
Anyway, Dad, I just wanted to say
Happy Birthday to You.
You are missed so very much.
I will ride for you on that day.
Your candle will burn for one month like every year.

Rain on our faces.
All of our love.
